Andrew Baldwin is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford, as well as Fellow and Tutor in Chemistry at Pembroke College. The key goals of his research are the development of new experimental methods tailored to address specific challenging biological questions, with a focus on membraneless organelles. His paper on SARS-CoV-2 and its interactions with sugar residues on protein cells in the lungs in Science is the most recent of 69 research articles. Prof Baldwin obtained more than £4.7 million of research funding as principal investigator, including grants from the ERC and several prestigious fellowships. He is currently on the advisory board for the Rosalind Franklin Institute, Harwell and is an esteemed reviewer for funders like the ERC and UKRI. He has been awarded the Royal Society Norman Heatly Prize in 2020, the Harrison Meldola medal and has been made lifetime honorary fellow of the Israeli Chemical Society.
