Raymond Andrew Prize
In memory of the pioneering work of Professor Dr. Raymond Andrew the Groupement Ampere awards the Raymond Andrew Prize annually to young scientists for an outstanding PhD thesis in magnetic resonance.
The recipient of the 2024 Raymond Andrew Award is Dr. Tamar Wolf (Weizmann Institute).
Tamar Wolf completed her B.Sc. in Chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She completed her M.Sc. in Chemistry in Weizmann institute of Science, under the supervision of Prof. Boris Rybtchinski, on self-assembly of organic nanocrystals and their properties. In 2023, She received her PhD in Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Lucio Frydman. Her PhD research focuses on the development of state-of-the-art NMR experiments in order to address the challenges imposed by the low sensitivity and poor resolution in solid-state NMR of a myriad of organic and inorganic materials. The methods that she has developed have allowed to retrieve information about the local structure of different materials and their molecular dynamics, enhance the experimental sensitivity several fold, and gain insight into the underlying spin physics. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Lucio Frydman.
